c'mon already with the extra charges!!!

for those of you that haven't heard vick is now being indicted with local charges for dogfighting and etc. really though, i mean really. the man has already plead guilty to the federal charges and because the feds have already built the case, the va government decides hey we'll get piece of this pie. hey, why not? all of the work has been done for us!

i just think that its not even justice if vick can't even plead not guilty on the local charges because everyone in the world already knows that he plead guilty on the federal charges, so who could possible be objective on that jury? the local government had the case first, and should have been working with the feds to convict this man, instead of pulling this nonsense.

o. j. simpson complete idiot, but...

o.j. is a complete idiot for his gansta behavior in his attempt to "reclaim" some of his stolen sports memorabilia, but my question is who are these guys that were in possession of this "stolen" material?

i mean, "One of the alleged victims was arrested on a parole violation Wednesday, the other was recovering from a heart attack, and the man who allegedly set up the meeting where the confrontation occurred has a criminal record." according to http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/09/20/oj.sideshow.ap/ so what's the real story here? i think these guys jacked o.j. for his stuff and he found out about and went to get it back by "any means necessary".

yes, o.j. is the biggest idiot in the world because if you have one of the largest bullseye's every on the center of your chest, chances are that you might want to just want to lay low, but at the very least you don't want to commit ANY crime.

yet another defeat

after suffering another defeat is it safe to say that the falcons season is over? i mean really 2 games can't represent an entire season, can it?

ahhh yeah, sorry for all those falcon fans, especially those that thought being without michael vick would be no big deal. these first 2 games are literally the precusor to the rest of your season. have fun!!!

a season full of excuses ahead

after a headline like "Harrington Wears Target In Debut Replacing Vick", i can already forsee a season filled with readymade excuses for harrington's lack of performance. ultimately culminating in "oh, any person coming into such a difficult situation that vick (cause no matter what happens it will be vick's fault this season) created really couldn't do much with what they were given.

please!!! spare me the excuses, because i know that no one is going to spare me the "wow, harrington is the greatest thing since sliced bread" when and if the falcons start winning. but, that means that you have to dish out the deserved criticism when two interceptions are thrown and conversions in the red zone are zippo.

whoopi goldberg "the view" comments

for those of you haven't heard someone else has weighed in on the vick-non-monster-evil-being side of things. whoopi goldberg dared to say, "I'M JUST SAYING THAT INSTEAD OF JUST SAYING HE'S A BEAST AND HE'S A MONSTER THIS IS A KID WHO COMES FROM A CULTURE WHERE THIS IS NOT QUESTIONED." read full transcript.... http://www.ktu.com/pages/WMVControversy.html?feed=213636&article=2599724

and of course she was blasted for it! now she is the second minority celebrity to speak out and say what majority (not all) the black community feels about this case. no one condones what vick did (which whoopi stated multiple times), but just as whoopi and jamie foxx mentioned in that community dogfighting is not evil, dogs are not viewed as "children". does this excuse these actions NOOOOOOO!!!

all whoopi, jamie and the people of that particular community are trying to say is that, even though they may love animals, and definitely don't kill them, they also don't leave them 12 million dollars.

was there really that much talent there?

yesterday, when i asked a fellow how he felt about the "whole mike vick situation" his response after the long pause was about vick's talent on the field. specifically, how he would miss the unpredictable nature of vick's play. see to him it was all about the excitement of not knowing what was going to happen from one play to another. then i started to think was vick really that talented? i mean, yes, he has awards, but lest we forget none of those are superbowl rings! does vick's talent really even deserve this much hype?

Michael Vick's Future

o.k. now that he has plead guilty, how much time should michael vick receive? i have been all over the internet looking at a variety of polls and i would say the majority say lock him up and throw away the key, or put him in the ring with one of the pitbulls involved in this case. then on every blog relating to this case i envitably see the comments revert to race. i literally find myself reading each comment and saying this person is white (most will eventually just come out and say it) or this person is black (which will usually be stated as well). at first i just shook my head and thought why is a conversation on race coming out of this case?

the answer: because unfortunately race is never really that far away from us. its just right there below the surface, and whenever an event scratches that ever so thin surface then we start to see demonstrations divided by color. blog entries talking like, "Why do blacks,(not African Americans because most of them can't even find Africa on a map much less been there)". and all i could say to a statement like that is "wow", that might be the man sitting two tables away from me at the local starbucks, pretending to not mind integration.
